You have said how useful you’ve found previous VCSSCamp unconferences in Birmingham< /a> so we are bringing VCSSCamp back for the 7th time as a space for people from VCS Local Infrastructure Organisations (that’s CVSs and Volunteer Centres etcto meet and talk about the ways they use (or don’t use) digital tools and technology in their work.

So if you work in\, lead\, govern or volunteer for a local support or infrastructure organisation and you want to get togethe r with like-minded people for a day to discuss the important issues your o rganisation faces\, then VCSSCamp is for you!

FORMAT

The day will be an unconference format so there is no set plan or agenda before the day starts. All you need is a desire to talk about the many ways that social media and digital technology has changed the landscape we work in\ , and what we are doing and could be doing about and with it.

#commscamp is an unconference for in-house public sector peo ple.

It is the largest such event in Europe and quite possibly the world.

Good Things Foundation\, in partnership with BT\, is holding a practical and informative event for digital inclusion practitioners to learn more about how to understand motivations and overcome barriers for n on-users of the internet. The event will share their latest research and h elp you to embed this insight into your delivery.

The event will t ake place at the Impact Hub\, Birmingham\, from 10.30am – 3.30pm\, and the agenda is below:

The research they’ll be launching has been condu cted with the support of BT\, and using Ofcom data\, provides a brand new insight into why people don’t use the internet\, and how we can overcome s ome of these barriers.

At the event\, they’ll be sharing the resea rch findings\, as well as giving you the chance to hear from other organis ations who are successfully overcoming barriers in their communities. You’ ll take part in workshops to dive deeper into the barriers\, and come up w ith practical plans to help overcome them. You’ll also have the opportunit y to network with other organisations who are supporting digitally exclude d people.
