Directors backgrounds in the public and social/voluntary sectors
Having worked at senior level in both the public and social/voluntary sectors (VCS) for over 30 years combined, supporting local communities to learn and succeed, Pauline Roche and Ted Ryan, partners both in business and in life, started RnR Organisation to support colleagues in both sectors. Darren Wright became a Director of RnR Organisation in 2018.
RnR Organisation works to improve and increase the digital and data literacy of the VCS sector through writing, organising and campaigning, using asset-based community development methods. As directors we also use our skillsets to help community organisations around addressing governance, communications, financial, operational and project management issues.
We believe the use, sharing and understanding of data can contribute to better decisions about resource allocation by charities, funders and communities.
Our core values are openness, transparency, learning and collaborating to make the world a better and more fair place for everyone
Networking and brokerage
Being well-networked at local, regional and national levels, we offer and broker practical help to colleagues in both the public and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sectors, with the aim of improving working relationships and service design and delivery. This also included increasing the use of the web/technology for social good.
Event & social media management
Pauline and Ted have delivered a range of events (including Birmingham St Patrick’s Festival up to 2008), and, more recently, they’ve been co-organising 2 unconferences around transformation: VCSSCamp for voluntary sector infrastructure organisations, and Open Data Camp for open data enthusiasts from around the UK and beyond.
Pauline manages several social media accounts and she both manages and trains other organisations in social media management
Social enterprise
As a social enterprise, we reinvest our surplus on a ‘low bono’ basis into small, grassroots organisations who could not otherwise afford our rates for consultancy support
