Supporting data work: Open Data Commission

We worked with colleagues in West Midlands Open Data Forum to use our collective expertise around open data to create outcomes which  will benefit all sectors of the economy in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands

This work was timely as it could make an expert contribution to the plans and negotiations for the formation of the West Midlands Combined Authority

We believed that by undertaking this ‘commission’, we might be able to influence the new structure and any processes (Local Economic Partnerships) to which they would be aligned.

This, in turn, would identify how open data can influence economic growth, common services and business development in the area
